Let the Christmas countdown begin!

Time flies faster than Santa’s sleigh. Did you know we’re more than halfway to Christmas? The Blennerhassett’s merriest celebrations are just a few months away.

So let’s start the countdown, shall we?

1. Festival of Trees | November 15 – December 7

“Deck the halls with boughs of holly” isn’t just a timeless tune. At The Blennerhassett Hotel, you can experience the splendor of a Victorian Christmas!

Come November, professional designers bring more than 30 decorated Christmas firs and wreaths to the hotel. Known as the Festival of Trees, this magical event sparks good cheer like nothing else.

All proceeds go towards a worthy cause, too. Trees, garlands and seasonal items go on auction for Easter Seals— a charity for uninsured or underinsured children. Bidding starts Dec. 7.

Until then, soak up the sights. We promise those ribbons, glitter, and lights will boost your spirits. (So will a peppermint hot chocolate or mocha from our Starbucks coffee bar.) You didn’t hear that from us, though. It’s fully endorsed by Mr. Claus himself.

2. Breakfast with Santa | November 25

Mr. Claus loves Blennerhassett breakfasts so much, he stops here before traveling the globe. Your kids are also invited! Enjoy a delicious meal with Santa himself before posing for photos.
Bring that wish list, too. Little ones will have a chance to share their hopes and dreams with the greatest elf of them all.

Please check The Blennerhassett’s site for tickets once they’re posted; several seatings for Breakfast with Santa will be available this year, but they always fill up quickly.

3. Gingerbread Festival | December 11 – 27

Right after Festival of Trees ends, another delightful tradition takes its place: the Gingerbread Festival!

That’s right— it’s back for 2017. If you’re a crafty baker, start dreaming and practicing. We’re looking for magical gingerbread cottages, castles, or whatever dwelling you imagine. Bring your artistry over for a shot at a prize! Child, junior, and adult divisions will be available.

This year, we’re partnering with Habitat for Humanity with the Mid-Ohio Valley! All money from entry fees and the “People’s Choice” awards will benefit Habitat for Humanity.

For entry information and dates, keep checking our site; we’ll post details shortly. You don’t have to bake to enjoy the festival, though. Gingerbread confections will be on display for most of December. Stop by and prepared to be awed— and inspired.

4. New Year’s Eve Celebration | December 31

Add Gaslight Era glitz to your evening, right before the clock strikes midnight.

Our New Year’s Eve Celebration has it all: classy decor, live music, and gourmet entrees. We’ll treat you to exquisite desserts and bubbly, too. It’s just the send-off an old year needs.

As for 2018, The Blennerhassett has that covered. Your package includes an overnight stay in a luxurious room, seconds from the dance floor. Then, wake up to espresso at our Starbucks coffee bar or a continental breakfast, hot and fresh from Spats. Not too shabby for a happy new year, right?

5. And a partridge and a par-tay

Have your jolliest, merriest party yet! Just bring everybody over to The Blennerhassett. We have event rooms, catering, and professional staff ready to plan that special day.

Spaces and dates go faster than Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, though, so make reservations early. We’ll even give you a 50-percent room rental discount! Just book by Nov. 1 for that special offer. Then count on us to do the rest. We’ll make it spiffy, sparkly, and festive.

Happy Christmas in July!
