Parkersburg, West Virginia
Eighty-two rooms, one 1889 building
What is inside the building
Eighty-two rooms and suites, a spa, Chancellor’s and The 1889, The Conspiracy, a library, and a garden patio, all inside one building in downtown Parkersburg.
The hotel opened in 1889 and has not stopped operating since. It is a working historic building, not a renovation that borrowed the word, and that is most of the reason people book a second night.
Rooms and suites

Two queens
For families, and for anyone travelling with a group that needs to stay together and sleep separately.

Historic suites
Five named suites, each one different. The reason a one-night stay turns into two.

Chancellor’s
A downtown restaurant that happens to have a hotel above it. Dinner is the reason to walk in, whether or not you are staying the night.
The door down the stairs from the lobby is not marked
The Conspiracy is behind it, named for the 1806 plot that was partly laid on Blennerhassett Island, a few miles downriver, and that ended with the family’s name in a treason indictment.
