FRIDAY

Arrive to The Blennerhassett Hotel Friday Night

SATURDAY

From May through November, depending on the schedule found here, hitch a ride to Blennerhassett Island via a ferry that will pick you up just blocks away from the hotel. Here you will take a carriage ride, enjoy a mansion tour, hike or bike the wooded trails around the plantation island, visit a unique gift shop and enjoy lunch at Harman’s Landing.
When you return to dry land, visit The Blennerhassett Museum for more context and artifacts behind the stories you just learned about, as well as stories of the Parkersburg region.

Are you seeking even more history? Dive into the origins of the greater Parkersburg area with a visit to The Oil and Gas Museum. They also have one of the oldest elevators in the state!

Make time to stop by Parkersburg Art Center and enjoy the current exhibit(s) on display, as well as purchase local art including painting, sculpture, ceramics and more.

After dinner go for a walk around Parkersburg’s historic Julia-Ann Square Historic District, located just blocks from the hotel. You will find buildings constructed for late 1800s bankers, oil and gas tycoons, lawyers and business people. You can even find the house of William Chancellor, the man who built The Blennerhassett Hotel, or as it was known at the time, The Hotel Blennerhassett.
