John Fitzgerald Kennedy stayed at The Blennerhassett Hotel on two different occasions in May of 1960 while campaigning in West Virginia, a state whose votes were paramount in the election. Robert Huck, the contemporaneous proprietor of The Blennerhassett Hotel, contributed to Kennedy’s 1960 campaign. Teddy, Bobby, and Eunice Kennedy also each stayed on the hotel’s premises as well. Mrs. John F. Kennedy was scheduled to come through Parkersburg but had to cancel at the last minute.
